Today we drove from Arusha to the Ngorangora Highlands. We visited with a man from the Irawq tribe and learned of their customs and way of life. The red skirt shown in the picture would be worn by the bride. It took 4 months to hand 'sew' these and 2-3 years to decide on a wife. The beads tell a story- there was no written word until 1926.
